Kur buvę, kur nebuvę, o mūsų kelias vėl į šiaurę suka. Sutinkam, kad kažkiek nenormalūs mes, bet ką padarysi - visi savaip išprotėję.

Du metus svajojau keliauti į šiaurę stebėti šiaurės pašvaisčių. Kartą teko tą stebuklingą reiškinį Islandijos danguje matyti, labai norėjosi dar. Tik realybė nebuvo tokia sklandi kaip planas. 2 paros prieš išvykimą testas pasakė, kad vienas iš mūsų turime covidą, kitas - ne. Išbandžius visus įmanomus testus, visgi nutarėme elgtis atsakingai ir neskristi. Nukabinę nosis namie laukėme ligos, bet jokie covido simptomai taip ir nepasirodė. O Alvydas nė neužsikrėte, nors nuo "savo koviduko" nesiizoliavo ir meiliai glaudė šalia kaip visada. Paliūdėjome, bet nesiskundžiame. Ta bjaurybe taip "prasirgti" yra tikra dovana. Iškėliau teoriją, kad ne ligą, o prieš porą sav. gauto trečio skiepo galiukus man tie testai pagavo.
Praėjo mėnuo, atėjo vasaris ir bandome antrą dublį - šįkart abiejų testai neigiami, tikrai ramūs - kelionė įvyks. Ir islandai mažą dovaną paruošė - mūsų atvykimo dieną pas juos atšaukė VISUS covido ribojimus šalyje - jokių testų atvykstantiems, jokių kaukių, jokių 2 m. atstumų. Klimatas ir dienos ilgis
Priešingai, nei mes įsivaizduojame, Islandijoje žiemą nėra baisiai šalta. Nors Poliarinis ratas labai arti, bet čia ne Sibiras. Salos klimatą labai sušvelnina Golfo srovė, taigi vasaros maloniai vėsios, žiemos irgi nešaltos. Dažniausiai gruodį - vasarį temperatūra bus apie 0 laipsnių C. Šiaurinėje salos dalyje būna nukrenta ir iki -20C, bet tokie atvejai reti. Apsidžiaugę nepamirškite, kad visgi Islandija Atlanto vandenyne, taigi vėjas - čia karalius. Stiprūs vėjai gali atnešti gūsius, kritulius, audras ir gerokai atvėsinti jutiminę temperatūrą. Ir tokie oro pokyčiai gali būti labai netikėti.
Kitas svarbus dalykas - dienos ilgis. Žiemą šviesaus paros meto gali būti 4-5 valandos. Pvz.:
Gruodžio 1 d. saulė kyla 10:45, o leidžiasi 15:45,
Sausio 1 d. saulė kyla 11:20, o leidžiasi 15:40,
Vasario 1 d. saulė kyla 10:10, o leidžiasi 17:15.
Mums būnant ten prasidėjo kovas ir dienos gavosi jau tikrai ilgos - saulė nuo 8:35 iki 18.45!
Vairavimas žiemą
Kadangi visi esate iš šalies kur būna ir sniego, ir ledo, visiems žinomų dalykų nė neminėsime (stagiai nestabdyti, slystant nesukioti vairo ir t.t.)
Ką verta žinoti - visais metų laikais verta, o žiemą būtina pasitikrinti kelių būklę ir orų prognozę, situaciją. Geriausi šaltiniai: vegagerdin.is arba en.vedur.is Ten daug įvairios naudingos info, yra ir jų appsai.
Dauguma F kelių (neasfaltuoti) žiemą uždaryti arba sunkiai pravažiuojami.
Žiemą reikalingas 4 ratais varomas automobilis. Mažos mašinytės yra tiesiausias kelias nuslysti ar būti nupūstam nuo kelio. Net autobusus su visais turistais yra nupūtę.
O tokiu atveju labai svarbu pasidaro draudimas. Dauguma keliautojų sako, kad kokį draudimą benusipirksi, Islandijoje tau visvien bus šikna, jeigu kas atsitiks. T.y. jeigu nebus sužeistų, pagalbos gali tekti laukti ilgai ir po to, už labai daug net "Uber All Inclusive Mega Platinum +" draudimo nedengiamų žalų pačiam susimokėti (pasirodo!).
Ir visada lipdami iš mašinos prilaikykite dureles!!!
Ne tik dureles pasaugosite, bet ir patys turite šansą šalia mašinos neišsitiesti, nes islandai neskrupulingi - net prekybcentrių parkingai gali būti grynas ledas - niekas nesiparina valyti.
Jeigu pas mus kokiam mieste būtų tiek ledo aikštelėse, parkinguose ant šaligatvių, tikrai lietuviai miesto merą ant rankų nuneštų ir nulinčiuotų. Nu gerai, bent jau Facebooke, tai tikrai :) O čia žmonės nevargsta - matote - yra žiema, sninga ir lyja kasdien kelis kartus, tai apsiaukite normalius batus ir nesinervinkite. Viskas.

Deja išvykstant į Islandiją ramybės nebuvo daug.
Dieną prieš kelionę ryte visi sužinojome, kad Putino armija įsiveržė į Ukrainą. Svarstėme ar mums skristi į kelionę. Ir nutarėme, kad taip. Esame pilni vienybės, brolybės ir palaikymo Ukrainos žmonėms... Tačiau ne daug ką galime padaryti. Iškart paaukojome VšĮ „Mėlyna ir geltona“, o ką daugiau?..
